Spring '24 Release: improved reports and flows

It's time again for Salesforce's latest update: Spring 2024 Release. With it, Salesforce gives users access to new features, user interface improvements and performance enhancements. As far as we are concerned, this release made the best changes to improve reporting and make building Flows more user-friendly.
Dashboards & Reports
Dashboards and reports help you display the data in your CRM in a nice way. Salesforce has now added additional features to display, filter data and make transferring and customizing dashboards and reports more user-friendly.
Use images, text boxes and dashboard widgets
Want to use images, text boxes and dashboard widgets? Then until previously this was only possible with Salesforce Unlimited. As of this Spring Release, this is accessible for all Salesforce editions. This helps you create clear and attractive dashboards!
Apply focus with more filters
Previously, it was possible to add only three filters to your dashboard. As a result, you couldn't always get the insights you wanted. After the Spring Release, it will be possible to add up to five filters to your dashboards. Thus, the update ensures that you can add more focus to the topics where you want more in-depth insights.
Easily transfer dashboard
Suppose you want to transfer ownership of a dashboard, for example, because the owner is leaving the company. Previously, you could only clone the dashboard or, worse, you had to rebuild it. Spring '24 release makes it possible to transfer ownership of a dashboard. Select the dashboards you want to transfer and choose the new owner. This person receives an email confirmation, and then has full control of the dashboard. So, is someone leaving your organization? Then don't forget to take advantage of this new feature. This will save you trouble and time.
Moving multiple columns (Lightning report builder)
Do you often modify reports in the Lightning report Builder? Then this update is going to save you time. It's now possible to move multiple columns at once. That will save you work and probably some frustration 😉
Flows
Salesforce has made building flows more user-friendly with the Spring '24 Release. For example, manual saving is a thing of the past, and guessing how many input fields a user needs is no longer necessary thanks to the Repeater component.
Repeater component
When filling out a form, it is not always clear in advance how much information the user is going to enter. The 'Repeater component' helps you with this. Using this functionality, you can repeat a set of input fields as many times as the user wants. This is useful, for example, if you are asking for dates of family members when you don't know how many the user has. The user can then add their own set of input fields for each family member.

No more worries about manual storage
With the Spring '24 release, automated saving of flows has been extended for all elements except Screens and Actions. Previously in Salesforce, you had to save each element in a flow separately. Over the winter, salesforce was already automating this in Flow Builder and is now extending this line. As a result, you no longer have to worry about saving elements.
When to expect the update
The release date for Spring '24 depends on your Salesforce instance, but the main release weekends are:
- Jan. 12, 2024
- Feb. 2, 2024
- Feb. 9, 2024
Updates will be communicated via email, but can also be found at: https://trust.salesforce.com/nl-NL. Here you can look up your organization's environment to see all past and future updates. You can also find here how long the Salesforce interruption will last. Your Salesforce Organization ID can be found in the production environment under 'company information'.
What does Spring '24 Release mean for your organization?
The Salesforce Spring '24 Release only really brings nothing but benefits to you as a user. The only thing you have to take into account during the weekend of your release is an interruption of the services of your Salesforce instance.
