Meet Martin, he has gained extensive experience in the IT world in various roles, including with Salesforce. In the interview below, he lets us know what it's like to work as an account manager at GoSoniq, what skills he considers important and what makes Salesforce so great right now! 

Can you briefly introduce yourself?

I come from a real entrepreneurial family, so selling is something I grew up with. So it's not surprising that I ended up in accountancy. I have extensive experience in the IT world, from sales and consulting to more creative things like helping marketing companies with their strategy. 

What is Salesforce and what kind of organizations use it?

Personally, I have been working in the Salesforce world for more than 10 years. What started out as a promise, has since grown into a software that offers a solution for every problem that has anything to do with customers. Salesforce is one of the largest and fastest growing software solutions. 

What does GoSoniq have to offer in terms of Salesforce?

With GoSoniq we support clients to actually make optimal use of the possibilities after implementation. Our consultants and developers ensure that customers can get back on track if they get stuck and that things are set up as smartly and efficiently as possible. For end users, we can remove uncertainties, advise on possibilities and answer questions, so that they can make the best possible use of the package.

As an account manager, do you need to have a lot of knowledge about Salesforce right away?

Knowledge of Salesforce is the least important. You need a certain hunger to help customers move forward. Empathy is very important, thinking about what really concerns the customer. Then you can respond to how we can contribute to this and convince them that we can best help them in that area. And of course you have to enjoy achieving great results! 

What does the work look like and who do you work with?

First, you will work a lot with our digital marketers, together you will work on generating leads. You yourself will figure out who you want to reach and how to get in touch with the customer. 

After having had an (exploratory) interview, you have the opportunity to submit a proposal. You do this in collaboration with our Salesforce consultants or developers. Together you look at what the customer needs and how you can meet these needs through our services. 

As you develop more connections and customer relationships, there will be more focus on maintaining these relationships. You will use Salesforce and others for this yourself, because you need to have a good understanding of what is going on in the program. 

What appeals to you about the Salesforce world?

Salesforce is all about connecting with customers. I like organizations with big ambitions, and Salesforce has that. It also continues to grow every year. With new capabilities and solutions.

What are the advancement opportunities at GoSoniq?

GoSoniq is a startup, so you will have a lot of impact and contribute to building the company and the team. You will work a lot with colleagues from Enshore and the Cronos group, and there is of course the opportunity to delve into the services of these companies.

Is there anything else you would like to pass along to the new account manager?

A good account manager recognizes opportunities when they arise. This is an opportunity to step into a fast-growing company. A startup, but with the comfort of a larger group.
